What this is
A ledger of things Elon Musk said would happen, with a date, that did not — or have not yet. Every entry is a public statement, quoted, dated, and linked to an archived copy of the original. Every outcome is dated too. That is the whole method.
What qualifies
A statement gets an entry when it names a specific outcome and a time it would happen by, and the outcome can be checked. Vague optimism doesn't qualify. "By the end of next year" does.
The name
The site is called what it is called because that is the joke. The ledger itself makes no claim about intent. It records what was said, when, and what happened. Whether a promise was a lie, a guess, or a plan that failed is for the reader to decide.
How entries are tagged
Watching — the deadline has not passed yet; the counter shows time remaining.
Missed promise — the deadline passed and the outcome did not happen; the counter shows how late.
Backtracked — the promise was publicly withdrawn or cancelled before or after its deadline.
False claim — the statement was untrue when it was made; the counter shows how long it stood before it was reversed.
Quotes
Quotes marked verbatim are transcribed from the primary source. Where the wording is a contemporaneous report's paraphrase, the entry says so. Sources are linked to an archive.org capture whenever one exists.
Corrections
Wrong date, wrong quote, missing context, an outcome that has since changed: write to corrections@elonlied.me with the entry id and a source. Entries are corrected, not deleted, and every change is in the public commit history.
Votes
The clown counter is one vote per entry per day. Your IP address is hashed with a daily salt to enforce that and is never stored in the clear.
