I think probably by the end of next year, self driving will encompass essentially all modes of driving and be at least 100-200 percent safer than a person, by the end of next year.

What happened: As of October 2026, Tesla sells its consumer system as Full Self-Driving (Supervised), which requires active driver supervision. Tesla's website lists autonomous robotaxi rides in six US cities: Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando and Tampa.
